When you make a donation to your Public Museum, your gift makes a difference!
No matter the size of your gift, you are helping to keep this community jewel on the Grand a vital asset to the region.
For more than 92 years, the Public Museum was owned and operated by the City of Grand Rapids. But in 2006, the Museum became its own independent 501 (c) (3), which meant a loss of $2.5 million –half our annual budget! So now the future of your Museum depends on you and others like you.
Your gift means:
School children from around the region can still come and learn about
….black holes in space and what happened to the passenger pigeon
….ancient mummies and critters that live in our marsh water
….how native peoples lived and the factors that have fueled growth in the region over the years…
Families can still visit the Museum to enjoy a few hours together and
…hear the tweets, whistles, wheezes and bangs of the Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ
…stroll the streets of Grand Rapids in the 1890’s
…whirl away on the carousel
…feel the connection of generations and our diverse neighbors…
Everyone can still visit the Museum to
...contemplate the world we’ve been and the world we are becoming
...share experiences that deepen relationships and broaden our thinking
