Volunteer at Your Museum!

If you’d like to use your talents and skills to make a difference for kids, your community and the future, we would love to talk with you about our volunteer opportunities.

There are many ways you can contribute when you join our core of dedicated volunteers, whether at the Van Andel Museum Center downtown or the Voigt House Victorian Museum in Heritage Hill. We’re sure you’ll find a very enjoyable, rewarding niche for yourself!

  • Provide general information – Greeters welcome visitors and get everyone moving in the right direction.
  • Help educate! Event Specialists assist Museum staff with the special programs that occur periodically throughout the year. Docents conduct interactive curriculum centered programs or give tours and Exhibit Interpreters add information and in some cases, demonstrations to specific exhibits.
  • Contribute your special interest skill – the Voigt House has historical gardens and grounds that benefit from volunteers with green thumbs. Or take on a role from the past and help serve at special events at the Voigt House.
