 Description:
The Community Archives and Research Center is a collaborative support facility which houses the historical document and artifact collections of the Grand Rapids Public Museum as well as the Grand Rapids City Archives and Record Center, and many Kent County records.
 

Access:
Research access is available by appointment only. The Grand Rapids Public Museum's Collections Catalog is now available online. 

  • General behind the scenes tours of Museum collections storage are available on a limited basis. The cost is $3.00 per student plus a $75.00 lecture fee per group.

  • General behind the scenes tours of Museum collections for adult groups will be $7.00 per adult plus the $75.00 lecture fee per group.

  • Special interest tours of Museum collections may be developed by museum staff on a limited basis, at a cost of $30.00 per hour for development of the program, plus the student discount general admission fees (or adult group general admission fees) and the $75.00 lecture fee.

  • No fee will be charged for the short term use of a meeting room as part of a class visit or tour. Rooms must be booked in advance through the groups scheduling office and are available on a first come, first served basis.
