The planetarium has been an important part of the Grand Rapids Public Museum since it first opened in 1961. It carries the name of Roger B. Today its 145 seats recline under a fifty-foot dome that occupies the second floor directly above the Museum's main entrance lobby.
 Access:
The Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium is located on the second floor of the Van Andel Museum Center, and is open daily with a variety of shows.
