Museum on the Move

Let the Museum come to you!

Taking an out-of-the box approach, Read & Connect utilizes Museum exhibits and artifacts to help students expand their language skills and make real-world connections by bringing the Museum into classrooms. Students have the opportunity to find out if they are a "mammal" through our Z is for Zoology unit or touch a real mastodon tooth from our F is for Fossils unit. The words and concepts come alive, and students read the world around them!

All of our thematic units offer activities that support tactile, visual and auditory learners. Museum educators understand the importance of creating a positive learning environment. Program curriculum has been developed with the input of community partners and educators to ensure best practice standards are met. Curriculum is aligned to state and national content standards; teachers can feel comfortable designating precious classroom time for the Museum's educational adventure.
